Psychologist (Autonomous or Supervised Practice)

Organization Overview

We are a multi-function, private practice, psychology and psychotherapy clinic that provides a wide range of clinical services in Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Rehab Psychology, Health Psychology, Clinical Neuro Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Play Therapy, Family Therapy, Couple Therapy and Sex Therapy. We serve children, adolescents, adults, couples and families with diverse clinical issues and complex presentations. We have seasoned psychologists available to provide supervision.

We are a collaborative and supportive team with a strong focus on professional development. This includes individual supervision with your supervising psychologist, monthly group consultation in DBT and EFT and supervision in Family Therapy, Couple Therapy and Sex Therapy as required. There are also weekly DBT consultation groups and peer consultation groups. Regular professional development courses are available at a discounted rate through the Oshawa Psychotherapy Training Institute.

We value training the next generation of clinicians, community service and innovation. We have been offering clinical practicum placements since 2007 and are a partner with the Toronto Area Residency Consortium (TARC) in the Child Track. We offer free community workshops and a Low Fee Program to those who otherwise may not be able to afford psychological services. Our innovation program includes the Program Using Psychoeducational Intervention for Learning (PUPIL) for complex learning disabilities and Mental Health for Elite Performers for Athletes.

We are looking for:

*A Doctoral or Masters degree in Psychology, from an accredited APA or CPA program with valid registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario

*Completion of APPI, CPA, or CCPPP accredited internship/residency program

*Completed internship level training in clinical psychology

*All degree requirements completed before your start date.

*Ability to meet the requirements for issuance of a Certificate for Supervised Practice and pursue registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

*Commitment to contribute a minimum of 3 years of service (including supervised practice period)

*High commitment to uphold regulatory, ethical and professional standards including mandatory reporting

*Demonstrated skills to provide evidence-based clinical management, assessment and therapy services

*Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Training & Marketing Manager

CURRENTLY HIRING

We are looking for an energetic, innovative person who wants to take our Training Institute to the next level.  You are passionate about professional development and excited about managing all aspects of the program.  A dynamic, self-motivated person, you have an appetite for innovation and simplicity, as well as being highly process oriented. Finally, you are tech savvy (we are slowly moving to paper-less). This position with be salary based with the possibility of performance-based bonuses.

Position deliverables:

First six months:

  • Re-vision the Psychotherapy Training Institute (OPTI) and launch the new vision for January 2022
  • Provide lunch-learn webinars in Fall 2021 to ensure continuity of brand
  • Develop a sustainable marketing strategy for all aspects of the organization
  • Psychological & Counselling Services Group (PCSG) – Oshawa, Woodbine and Virtual
  • Oshawa Psychotherapy Training Institute (OPTI)
  • Psychotherapy Network / Psychotherapists Work

         First year:

        • Set and meet attendance and revenue goals for OPTI
        • Implement marketing strategy both within the organization and collaboratively with our external partners (i.e. social media consultant, web developer, printers)

         

        Longer term:

        • Develop a 2-year psychotherapy program

        Position Summary:

        Reporting to the Associate Executive Director, the Manager has the following primary responsibilities:

        • Oversees all aspects of the Psychotherapy Training Institute from strategic planning to day-day operations
        • Develops, coordinates, and implements marketing strategy for PCSG, OPTI and the Psychotherapy network (depending on applicant’s skill set this may be with an outside agency)

        Major Duties and Responsibilities:

        Training Centre Coordination – OPTI

        • working with advisory team, develops and delivers the yearly workshop offerings, sourcing and coordinating speakers, identifying sponsorship opportunities and hosting the sessions
        • prepares budgets, schedules and contracts with various internal and external parties, manages contracts and post event financial reconciliation
        • manages communications re: contracts, marketing materials, event schedules, pre-event calls, registration, speaker requirements, travel, local hotel discounts, payment, media requests, etc.
        • responds to email and phone inquiries and processes registrants including confirmation and payment
        • oversees event day-day logistics including virtual or physical requirements as needed. May include Zoom set up, securing presenter room, preparation of workshop presenter materials, purchase of break supplies, etc.
        • oversees evaluation process include preparing and reviewing event evaluation forms and preparing statistical reports and recommendations

         

        Marketing – PCSG, OPTI, Psychotherapy Network

        • designs and develops an overarching marketing campaign for all aspects of the business
        • researches, identifies and negotiates placement of marketing materials with third parties in select publications, websites and newsletter / email campaigns
        • develops and deploys promotional campaigns via various communication channels
        • creates and updates (or sources third party vendors) promotional materials, including web site and social media
        • replenishing marketing materials as necessary in Oshawa, Taunton and Courtice medical buildings

         

        Administration

        • submits appropriate, completed application for yearly renewal of Accreditation
        • maintains/updates OPTI Procedure manual

        Skills & Qualifications:

        • Post-secondary education in adult education, marketing and/or business
        • Three years of work experience in professional continuing education or related field
        • A leader who is able to solve problems and make informed decisions
        • Proven experience managing events and projects
        • Professional interpersonal communication skills, proactive attitude and results oriented
        • Good organizational and time management skills to meet and set deadlines – juggling multiple projects and to-do’s simultaneously is no problem
        • Able to work autonomously and also love collaborating with a team
        • Attention to detail in all areas of work
        • An expressed willingness to work after hours when required
        • Asset – knowledge of the CE landscape for psychological services and psychotherapy

         

        Marketing

        • Knowledgeable about marketing functions (eg. advertising, promotion programs, communications, sponsorship) and the roles each plays in a successful marketing campaign
        • Demonstrated knowledge of formal marketing strategy development and best practices
        • Superior writing and editing skills – to write copy for advertisements and social media
        • Experience working with outside agencies and creative consulting firms
        • Understanding of digital communication channels

        Technical Skills

        • Considerable experience using the Microsoft Office, Google Drive and comfortable with technology in general
        • Proficient with online meeting and webinar platforms such as Zoom
        • Proficient with social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram

        Office/Marketing Assistant

        Psychological & Counselling Services Group (PCSG) is a multi-function, private practice, psychology and psychotherapy clinic. We value training, community service and innovation.

        We are seeking a personable and highly organized office/marketing assistant to ensure our office is welcoming for our clients. As part of the reception team, you are the first point of contact and responsible for a positive client experience. As the marketing assistant you provide support to the organization in the areas of marketing and communications.

        This position involves varied shifts with the potential of 2 weekday evenings until 9 pm and Saturdays.

        Minimum Qualifications:

        • Post-secondary education in a related field
        • Minimum 2 years administrative experience, ideally in mental health / medical practice
        • Education or experience related to marketing

        Required Skills:

        • Communication – Communicates in clear, professional manner; demonstrates active listening.
        • Teamwork & Relationship Building – Interacts with others in an inclusive, collaborative and respectful way that creates effective working relationships.

        Responsibilities

         

        Office/Reception Duties – 80%          

        • Create a welcoming atmosphere by promptly greeting clients in-person, on the telephone and via email, answering inquiries and scheduling appointments
        • Record client service information and receive and record client fee payments
        • Assist with administrative tasks including incoming mail, faxes, documents, photocopying and meeting schedules
        • Respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of clients

        Marketing Duties – 20%

        • Assist in the preparation of brochures, posters, promotional materials, etc.
        • Maintain and update content on the website and social media channels
        • Identify new opportunities for social media content, create and schedule social media content for the social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram, etc.

We offer these training courses on Fridays and Saturdays at our convenient Oshawa location. 

        Once workshops are completed, the participants receive a certificate of completion and are granted 13 hours (for 2-day workshop) or 26 hours (for 4-day workshop) continuous education hours approved by the Canadian Psychological Association and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
